Models Disagree On Future Path Of Potential Tropical System

It looks increasingly likely a tropical system of some sort will soon development over parts of the Bahamas that could possibily move towards Florida and into the Gulf Coast.

The National Hurricane Center warned that satellite images showed the area of disturbed weather was becoming better organized and surface pressures in the area were falling.

"Conditions are becoming favorable for a tropical depression or a tropical storm to form within the next day or so as the system moves toward the northwest through the northwestern Bahamas and toward the Florida Peninsula at 5 to 10 mph," read the tropical weather outlook. The NHC added if those trends continued, advisories for a potential tropical cyclone would likely begin sometime on Thursday.

Models disagree with the future of the system. The GFS keeps it weak and moves it into the Gulf, but does not strengthen it much, while the Euro shows a much stronger system moving northward off the east coast of Florida and keeps the system out of the Gulf altogether.

Forecasters are also continuing to keep a close eye on a tropical wave moving quickly across the tropical Atlantic. It's expected to find favorable conditions for development and a tropical depression could form early next week.
