Depression Becomes Tropical Storm Olga

A tropical depression in the Gulf of Mexico was named Tropical Storm Olga Friday afternoon, after max winds of 40 miles per hour were found in the system's northeastern quadrant.

The main threat to southeast Louisiana remains tropical moisture from Olga being pulled towards the area thanks to a cold front passing through. Olga is expected to merge with the front, becoming a post-tropical low.

1 to 4 inches of rain are possible across the area through Saturday morning and a flash flood watch remains in effect until tomorrow.
