Beryl Weakens Over Land, Could Strengthen Over Western Gulf

Beryl had weakened to a category 1 hurricane Friday morning after moving inland over the Yucatan Peninsula.

The storm brought hurricane storm-force winds, damaging waves and dangerous storm surge at landfall.

Beryl is forecast to reemerge over the Gulf of Mexico and could regain hurricane strength while moving towards another landfall along northern Mexico or the southern Texas coast.
